breaking hearts has never looked so cool [ 12.05.03 - 10:44 Help me! ] Well, last night I get a call from my mom. Seems her midlife crisis will be getting a bunch of new (and weird!) tattoos and she wanted me to draw them up for her. She already has a tattoo that she got when she was 17 on her upper arm. It's a rose with a banner across it that says "Foxy", which was the name of an exboyfriend, not that she'd ever admit it. She wants it covered up with a monkey, holding a banana in one hand, a bomb in the other. She says that this embodies everything in her life. Because her boyfriend/fiance kind of dude is always referred to as a monkey, and because armorers are always referred to as monkies, she feels this to be an adequete representation. I wonder if in 20 years, I'll be getting a coverup of one of my tattoos, with like, Ronald McDonald (successfully, I'm sure, embodying my current life). Next, she wants her boyfriend guy's name in some language. Basically, any language comprised of symbols, I guess. I would prefer something like Gaelic, but she insists on Mandarin or Arabic or something. When I asked, "Didn't you learn your lesson about tattooing people's names on your body yet?", she replied, "Hey, if Phil and I break up, I can tell people this says just about anything." Fair 'nuf. She also wants some sort of background with it. Like, if it's in Mandarin, she wants, like, a bonzai or apple blossoms or something. Lastly, the obligatory mom tattoo. This is the tattoo that pertains to me! My mom really has no idea what this tattoo should be. She only specifies that it's for me, her and my sister to get together (oh, I KNOW how cheesy that is). She says she wants us to get something that's something by itself, but also something together. I understand this, but I'm still insanely confused about what I'm going to do. She said to "get creative!" and do either: Mom + me + Shannon = one picture or me + Shannon = Mom's tattoo So, I think I might go to the library and get some books on body modification and some other books on symbols or whatever and see what I can find. But if any of y'all have an idea, I would probably make out with you for it. 'Cause my crazy mom will not be sated until something is come up with! [ previous entry - next entry ]
